When we are disappearing in digital

 ( AR/ Augmented reality installation, medium mixed media, Dimensions Variable, 10m x 4m, 2018 )

This site-inspired installation features an abstract monochrome landscape covering the archway into the garden with a void in the shape of a human figure. When viewed through augmented reality, the technology triggers the landscape to disintegrate into a digital animation as a virtual avatar appears in the void. The precarious figure is pixelated and distorted, hinting at the overwhelming impact of technology. As we see others pass through the void and disappear into the virtual body, the garden entrance becomes a threshold between the real and the virtual that makes us reflect on the consequences of pervasive digital influence on our relationship with nature.
