Fading Space of Dawn is a large-scale 2-channel video installation that takes the audience on a journey through a morphing lightscape. With two visually-encompassing LED screens, one vertical in front of the audience and the other horizontal on the floor, the installation extends the exhibition space into the virtual. Inspirited by the melodrama of dawn time, the work immerses and situates the audience into moments of revelation through light. Reacting to the changing lightscape is a sphere of natural landscape traversing in a weightless space, whose texture morphs from the states of ice, snow, water to bare rock. The peculiar transition signifies a break in the cycle, as the natural environment familiar to us fades away in time, from nourished to barren, serenity to despair.
